Epsom College defeat Brighton College in an exciting final to become the winners of the Norton Rose Reigate Charity 7s 2012!
Congratulations to Epsom College who lifted the Norton Rose Cup for the first time, after beating last year’s winners Brighton College with a 34-12 victory in a highly competitive final. Star player Jordan Burns from Epsom College went on to be awarded the highly prized “Kukri Player of the Tournament”.
Elsewhere, John Fisher School took the Plate Competition; Shield winners were Wallington County Grammar School; and Bowl winners were Worth School.
In the Girls’ Competition, Epsom College’s co-educational strength shone through as their ladies triumphed over the hosts, Reigate Grammar School 20-0 in an entertaining final, retaining the trophy. The Plate Competition was won by Pangbourne College who beat Hurstpierpoint College 5-0. Congratulations go to Rochelle Smith of Epsom College who was awarded the “Kukri Player of the Tournament” for the second year in a row.
Many thanks must go to all the referees that gave a very professional performance throughout the day despite the weather! In particular, a number of schools were lucky enough to have Chris White taking charge of their matches.
A special thanks to Ben Cohen (MBE) for presenting all the awards and for promoting his StandUp Foundation which we were supporting on the day. Finally, huge thanks go to all the supporters, PFA and helpers on the day that made this such a successful event.
Thank you to all involved.
