The Foundation and Alumni Office at Reigate Grammar is designed to support the School in its aim of providing pupils with an outstanding educational experience. Furthermore, it plays a vital role in growing and maintaining our links with the wider Reigatian Community whose support we so greatly value and appreciate.
Reigate Grammar School was founded through the generosity and philanthropic support of Henry Smith in 1675. Throughout its long history the School has faced many challenges, particularly financial, yet shown formidable strength of character and resilience throughout. We are proud of our achievements, particularly the academic excellence achieved, and highlighted most recently by our 2010 GCSE and A-level results that have marked RGS out as one of the top co-educational schools in the country.
Reigate Grammar has no permanent endowment to support its financial needs and ambitions. We rely upon fees and the generosity of parents, alumni and members of the wider Reigatian community to fund projects and for this we are eternally grateful. Now, as we look to 2025 and our 350th anniversary, our vision is to have a school that befits the needs of our present pupils and future beneficiaries. Thus, we need to build to maintain our success and to enable our students to make the most of their time with us and fulfil their potential both within and outside the classroom.
In recent times, economic stability has been severely shaken and it is clear that we must not be complacent about the future health of the School. If we are to build and sustain our enviable reputation we need to engage the whole Reigatian community. Therefore, I encourage you to take an active interest in the work and activities of the Foundation and support us in any way possible as has been the spirit of benefaction for over 300 years.
