Aims & Values

Reigate Grammar School exists to provide the highest possible quality of education to girls and boys aged 11 to 18 in Reigate.

We provide:

An excellent academic education for our pupils.
The school is committed to the highest possible standards of education, offering breadth as well as depth, stimulating intellectual curiosity and enabling all pupils to achieve their academic potential. The school maintains excellent results by extending pupils beyond examination requirements, in the best Grammar School tradition.

A wide-ranging and high quality programme of extra-curricular activities.
The school believes that education outside the classroom contributes as much to pupils’ development as their academic studies. Activities also provide essential skills and experiences to equip pupils for the world outside school. Pupils are encouraged to participate widely and aim for excellence.

A supportive community, in which staff and pupils alike are valued and respected.
The school is known for its happy and friendly atmosphere. Pupils are enabled to develop self-discipline, tolerance and understanding, and an awareness of the world around them, in order to become morally and socially responsible citizens. Staff are valued for their expertise and the contribution they make to pupils’ education.

An inclusive and welcoming community.
The school is committed to the principle of open access to all pupils who demonstrate the potential to benefit from the education the school provides, regardless of background, race, creed, or financial means. The school welcomes pupils of all faiths and of none, within an approach founded on Christian values.

We value:

  • respect for the beliefs, opinions and contributions of others.
  • self-respect, and confidence without arrogance.
  • courtesy, tolerance and consideration for others.
  • honesty, trust, openness and integrity.
  • loyalty to each other and to the school.
