Inspection Report Praises School

INSPECTION REPORT PRAISES SCHOOL AND STUDENTS

Reigate Grammar School has been praised in an outstanding inspection report by the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate (ISI). In the report, RGS is recognised as a school where students both ‘strive for excellence’ and ‘achieve their potential’. In reviewing the school, the highly positive report acknowledged that students’ ‘individual needs are met through an excellent curriculum that stimulates curiosity and encourages participation’.

Commented Mr David Thomas, Headmaster; “Of particular note is the high praise given to our school community and our pupils within the inspection report . At the very core of what we do here is prepare young people for a bright, confident and happy future in the wider world. The fact that this report praised so highly not only the academic achievements but also the spiritual, moral and social development of the students in our care is perhaps the highlight for the staff here at Reigate Grammar School.”

He added; “While it is always pleasing to hear good things about our school, the ISI report plays an important role in helping us to continue to develop the school. Further improving the opportunities available for independent learning and continuing to nurture students’ intellectual curiosity are key objectives within the school’s development plan.”

The Independent Schools Inspectorate
The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) arranges and carries out the inspection of any school which wishes to be accredited by the Independent Schools Council (ISC), thus enabling its head to become a member of one of the ISC’s affiliated associations of schools. The ISI also inspects every school whose head is already a member of one of these associations.
The ISI inspects schools according to a standard framework for inspection which it has laid down for the purposes of ensuring that standards are maintained and that the school complies with relevant legal requirements. This framework has been agreed with the DCSF and they have recognised the ISI as the body responsible for the regular inspection of schools in England which are affiliated to the ISC.
