History & Tradition
Reigate St Mary’s was formed in 1950 by the merger of the preparatory department of Reigate Grammar School and the choristers of St Mary's Church.
In 2003, the school returned to its former status as the junior department of Reigate Grammar School.
The school retains its own traditions and autonomy under the supervision of the Board of Governors of Reigate Grammar School. The two schools work closely together and collaborate in many areas.
RSM prides itself on its warm, friendly and supportive character. We believe that happy children make the best learners and encouragement and praise lead to excellent standards being achieved in all areas of pupils’ studies.

The Godfrey Searle Choir Trust offers a choral scholarship to each chorister. The choir contributes to the school’s rich combination of musical prowess, academic excellence and sporting endeavour. Girl choristers have been admitted since September 2017.
In drawing on Christian values, we aim to nurture the qualities of caring for one another, of integrity, tolerance and mutual understanding. These are fundamental to a good education and help us to develop the warmth and sense of purpose which are the recognizable characteristics of Reigate St Mary’s.

My daughter is having the time of her life at RSM! She comes out of school full of smiles and information about her day - it’s so lovely to see.
