Gerry the Gingerbread Man

I came home but I have gone again!
Monday 1 Feb 2016
Hi girls and boys
It was lovely to come home today. Thank you for minding my house whilst I was on my adventure. I’m afraid I’m off again. I saw the Gruffalo was your theme this week and I’m scared that the Gruffalo, or the mouse, or the snake, or the fox, or the owl might eat me so I have run off again! Run run as fast as you can you can’t catch me I’m Gerry the Gingerbread man. Have fun and keep singing my song… I love hearing it. Thank you for having me in your classroom.
Love from
Gerry the Gingerbread Man

I’m back…
Monday 1 Feb 2016
Hi girls and boys.
I’ve had the most fantastic adventure, but I’ve decided to come home to your gorgeous classroom and my lovely house there. I’ve arrived on the red eye special from Los Angeles and hope to be back with you by lunch time. See you soon.

A great day in LA…
Friday 29 Jan 2016
Hello boys and girls.
I’ve had a fantastic time here in Los Angeles. The weather isn’t great but I’ve done a lot of sightseeing. I’ve made some great friends but had one scary moment when a huge bird thought I looked good enough to eat. I can’t fly but the bird couldn’t run…. so I ran shouting “run run as fast as you can you can’t catch me I’m Gerry the Gingerbread man”!!

Los Angeles So Far
Thursday 28 Jan 2016
Hello girls and boys.
Well I have jet lag so I had a long long sleep in a very comfortable bed… American beds are huge and very comfortable. I then had a lovely breakfast… This hotel does a buffet breakfast and the good news is that they don’t eat Gingerbread men for breakfast here so I was safe. After breakfast I went to the Aquarium. Oh boy am I glad I can’t go in the water…there are so many other creatures living there. I learnt all about Jellyfish and other creatures that live in the sea at the Aquarium. I hope you like the photo. I’m dashing now as I need to get to the beach…Watch out for my next photos!!!

Hope you are not missing me too much as I am having a wonderful time and I promise I will come back soon.

Lots of love from a very excited tourist in LA.

Off to Los Angeles
Wednesday 27 Jan 2016
Hello boys and girls.

Well I’ve boarded the plane. It’s an Airbus A380 and my seat is in First class. Boy is this a fantastic adventure! Not an animal in sight to try and eat me… They are not allowed in this part of the plane. Apparently if you want to bring a dog or cat to America they have to travel in a cage with the suitcases, which I think is the only way for those pesky creatures to travel! Anyway as you can see from the photos I’m all tucked up nice and comfortable for my 11 hour flight… 11 hours of watching movies and eating delicious food.

The air stewards have been very nice and I told them all about Reigate St Mary’s and my adventures so far. They have made a list of things to do in Los Angeles so that I can send back more photos to you. The head steward had heard of your school. She thinks one of the British Airways Captains has a son in your class but she can’t remember his name… Do you have a boy whose Daddy flies for British Airways?

Anyway enough chat… I promise to send more photos from America.
Missing you all but having so much fun.

Oh oh!
Wednesday 27 Jan 2016
Hello children.
Well the travel agent was very interesting… they had a pet cat. It was a very friendly cat who didn’t eat me up but helped my purchase a ticket to travel to Los Angeles in America this afternoon. I’m really excited. I will email you again from the airport.
See you all later

Great Night’s Sleep
Tuesday 26 Jan 2016
Morning Kindergarten.
Well I’ve had a lovely nights sleep in the Reigate Manor Hotel, but when I went in for breakfast the lady in the restaurant said I looked good enough to eat, so I ran out of there calling:

“Run run as fast as you can you cant catch me I’m Gerry the Gingerbread man!!!”

Anyway I ran down Reigate Hill in search of a coffee shop but found something better… Reigate Travel Agents. That’s a shop that sells tickets for all kinds of adventures. They have lots of holiday brochures and in the window are details of flights all around the world. I’m sitting outside there now on my iPhone emailing you whilst waiting for the shop to open. I think that I might just have to go on another adventure before I come back to school Hasta la vista. I’m practising my Spanish in case I decide to go to Spain
Will write again after I’ve been into the travel agents.
Adios Amigos!

Hello Again

Tuesday 26 Jan 2016
Well I got completely lost in that big train station but I met a lovely man called Tarun who showed me the way to the underground. Oh boy the underground is packed, I’ve never seen so many people squeezed into a carriage. I’m glad I went on one, but won’t be in a hurry to try that again. I went from London Bridge to Bank. It wasn’t fun so I decided to come back to Reigate.

Love from a tired Gerry who now needs to find a place to stay as when I got back to your classroom everything was dark and you had all gone home. As soon as I find a hotel for the night I will send another email.

This is a fantastic adventure and I’m having such fun xxxxxx

My train trip to London
Tuesday 26 Jan 2016
Hello girls and boys.
Well I decided to buy a ticket to London. I jumped on the train and met a lovely young man who said I could carry his back pack!! It was a little too big for me!! I got nice and comfortable and enjoyed looking out the window at the passing countryside as we made our way into London. I liked your train, it was nice and quiet. I then had a read of the Metro Newspaper and arrived in London feeling nicely rested. I’m about to have a look at the tube system in London as I have never been on an underground train. I hope to jump on the tube a little later and go somewhere nice. I will write again soon and let you know where I managed to get to.

Love from Gerry

Oh no! I’m Broken.
Monday 25 Jan 2016
Hello again boys and girls.

Well I decided to be a very naughty gingerbread man and jump out of Mrs Hardy’s oven and run away. I fell and have broken my leg. I’m currently searching on the Internet to find a gingerbread surgeon to fix me so that I can get up to more mischief this week.
See you in the morning hopefully all fixed.
