The Choristers sing at Eversfield….
Being able to give back to the community is one of the privileges of being in the RGS Godfrey Searle Choir.
On Tuesday, the choristers took time out of their regular afternoon rehearsal schedule to visit Eversfield Care Home in Reigate and sing to the residents as they enjoyed their tea and cake at 4pm, a particularly special occasion for one lady who was also celebrating her birthday.
She was thrilled to hear ‘Happy Birthday!’ sung more beautifully than she had ever heard it before by 12 trained trebles!
With the help of RGS pupils who visit every Thursday afternoon as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award programme, some residents are hoping to attend evensong in the future at St Mary’s Church and hear the full choir sing each week.
This will help the choir to feel as though they are really serving the community by bringing pleasure those who love to hear them.
