Headmaster’s Roundup 12 May 2016
I love it when Reception Class Assembly comes around each year. As there are so many of them, with all three classes coming together, we re- organise the assembly hall and there is a huge buzz amongst the children. They know that having 40 children at the front of the hall all singing, acting and conveying an important message is a highlight for everyone.
This year Reception did not let us down with a great assembly all about looking after the planet. As ever my thanks go to the teachers, teaching assistants and music staff, particularly Mrs Whitehead.
Today Year 4 have gone off on their overnight residential trip to Henley Fort and thankfully the rain seems to have passed. Reception are also enjoying their Summer outing to Gatton Park, and Mrs Trundle will report back on these two trips next week.
Mrs Trundle will be reporting back because I will be in Snowdonia with Year 6 on their annual residential trip. This trip seems to come round faster and faster each year, (as I get older), and it always signals the approach of the end of the academic year.
Perhaps more than ever before, we have a packed programme between now and July 5, with the Music Soirée coming up, the Year 5 residential after half term, Sports Days, dance performances, inter-house competitions and prize giving, so do keep an eye on the school calendar and join us for as many events as you can.
