Headmaster’s Roundup 23 June 2016
Dear Parents
On Thursday evening last week we had the most wonderful Music Soiree. As ever the standards were incredibly high and there was an even greater diversity of acts than usual, from solos to the full orchestra through to dance pieces. Everyone who attended was amazed by the high standards the children achieved and as ever our thanks go to the Music and Dance staff.
On Friday afternoon we held our Upper School Poetry Competition and congratulations go to:
Caitlin H (Year 3)
Orlaith S (Year 4)
Anna G (Year 5)
Edward C (Year 6)
who all won in their year groups and to Anna G for being overall winner of the competition. Thanks go to our excellent judges: Mrs Glynne-Jones and Mr MacPherson.
We were blessed with dry weather for the FOSMA Summer Fair and it was a great event. So much work had gone into the planning and set up for the event and we were delighted to have the Junior Choir sing to us and members from our ballet classes dance for us. Huge thanks go to all the FOSMA team.
On Saturday evening the Godfrey Searle Choir sang in the first ever Three Choirs Concert in Croydon Minster and what an amazing event it was. They are so good and so professional.
Well done to everyone who performed in the Lower School Music Assembly on Tuesday. It was lovely to hear so many of you play.
Finally, it was lovely to meet new parents and also welcome current parents to our Meet the New Teacher evening on Wednesday. If you have any questions which were not answered yesterday, please do ask. As I said, it is a partnership and our door is always open.
