Headmaster’s Roundup 6 October 2016

Dear Parents

On Friday we had a lovely Promotions Matins with Gus M, Pietro V, Peter R and Billy R admitted as Probationers, with Ben R and Aaron D then being admitted as Choristers. They all sang beautifully. The evening before, the Choristers sang with Polyphony at Evensong and again this was an excellent service.

On Monday, Kindergarten found exciting fossils on their dinosaur dig, all around the school grounds and on Tuesday we had two highly enjoyable Harvest Services; Upper School followed by Lower School. Thank you to everyone who donated items.

We have the annual Book Fair running next week, so please see further details on the notices page, and our Early Years Parents’ Evenings are taking place on Tuesday and Thursday.

I am delighted to say that we have chosen a name for our FOSMA Eco-Garden and the name put forward by pupils in 3P was EDEN. The name was chosen for several reasons. Firstly Eden suggests the world unspoiled by man. Secondly the ED in EDEN stands for Education and the EN for enrich. So we can truly say that our pupil’s will have their Education Enriched through FOSMA’s brilliant contribution to the school.

Members of the Gardening Club and Green Leaders have been working hard planting in the Eden Garden and we are grateful to Mrs Hopkins who has designed the new planters and also to Mrs Nicholson and Mrs Gibson who work so hard with the Gardening Club making the environment beautiful for everyone.

Last week Ms White organised a staff Macmillan cake sale. The cakes were great and we raised £150 for this worthwhile cause.

Have a lovely weekend.

Marcus Culverwell
