Headmaster’s Roundup 8 December 2016

There was a great turn out of carol singers at the switch on of the Reigate Christmas lights last Saturday. Thank you to everyone who supported this fun and memorable event.

What a brilliant week it has been with fabulous finishes to topic work. Year 5 attempted challenging climbs on the climbing walls at the K2. Year 4 enjoyed a wonderful Indian Workshop and thank you to the parents who made this such a successful afternoon. Year 3 put on a performance for parents in the Church Hall on Ancient Greeks which was very entertaining.

The Choristers are now immersed in Christmas preparations and services. Last Friday evening they sang carols in the Holbein Hall of Reigate Priory School for members of the Reigate Priory Museum. They were accompanied by RGS Harpist, Eleanor Medcalf. It was a lovely, festive evening. On Wednesday they sang for Wallis Towers Watson at their annual Christmas service which they always enjoy.

We were all treated to two brilliant Lower School concerts yesterday morning. Kindergarten and Reception sang beautifully and entertained us well with the acrostic singing of Christmas. Then Years 1 and 2 wowed us with their high calibre singing, playing and speaking with a lovely message about celebrating Christmas in different ways around the world but with the same message of love. As ever, a huge thanks goes to all of the staff who prepared the children for these concerts but particularly to Mrs Whitehead our amazing Music Teacher.

Congratulations go to our Games Captain Henry Russ and our Sports Leader Sophia Clark for great sporting achievements. Henry recently captained an AFC Wimbledon side in Lithuania and Sophia was selected for the Surrey Hockey squad.
