Competition week and Lego League are hard at work……

In our Lego League elective, we have been working hard on our project for the First Lego League competition (our team is called Razor Sharp Minds). The challenge this year is ‘Animal Allies’ – we have to identify a way that animals interact with people, identify a problem and then come up with a solution.

We found out that the bee population is dwindling because the countryside, where bees collect nectar and pollen, is being destroyed. The thing we could all do to help is to persuade local councils to manage road verges better so that they remain safe for motorists whilst benefiting wildlife and saving money.

We presented our project to the whole school today so everyone can share in our discoveries.

To help us spread our message, we would be grateful if you could support the Plantlife Road Verge campaign by signing their open letter – to do so, please go to www.plantlife.org.uk/roadvergecampaign2016.

The Lego league team and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Watson for all of her amazing guidance and hard work in the creation of the Razor Sharp Minds research project. We really appreciate the time she has given up; it has been invaluable.

GO RAZOR SHARP MINDS!

Many thanks

Simon Williams
