Parliament comes to RSM……

Order… order! Year 5 have been learning about Parliament.  They found out how Bills are debated and become laws, and came up with their own ideas for new legislation.   After that, the class enacted the Queen’s speech.

 In her speech, Her Majesty told the members of both Houses that her Parliament will be introducing bills to, amongst other things, increase the pay of junior doctors and the building of gyms to help children keep fit.

The whole class were involved: they played all 800 lords and all 650 MPs!  Billy was the Speaker, Maebh was a very fierce Black Rod, George was Prince Philip and Sophia was the Queen herself.
