Deputy Head’s Roundup 18 May 2017
It truly has been a special week in and out of school as we celebrate the national ‘Outside Classroom Day’ today. The Year 6 residential trip is a real advertisement for providing opportunities for children to feel challenged and excited by learning. To reach the top of Snowdon the children refused to give up and the sense of achievement will stay with them forever – well done Year 6! On the Isle of Wight this week our Year 5 children have improved their social skills, enhanced their problem solving and team working skills all whilst having amazing fun.
Although the school is quiet with two year groups away we have celebrated the day outside with some creative learning experiences. This is so essential for the healthy development and enjoyment of children. We are extremely grateful to FOSMA for all the fundraising which has meant our outside facilities can be enhanced. Those of you who were able to attend the Summer Ball will know what a great evening it was as well as another very successful fund raising event.
On Monday the Green Leaders will be announcing the winners of the ‘Insect-You-Go’ competition.
Let’s continue to celebrate the great outdoors!
