Year 5 experience life as an Evacuee…

Year 5 found out about the lives of British children during World War II, when they went back in time and spent a morning as evacuees.  They travelled by train out of London to rural Sussex and found out about what it would have been like to be sent away from home.  They also discovered how children who remained in London during the Blitz took shelter in public air raid shelters, or in shelters in their gardens or houses. The children looked incredibly authentic in their costumes.  Thank you to all the parents who took such trouble dressing them as 1940s children and to The Rainbow Theatre Company for a fabulous morning.
