Headmaster’s Roundup 8 June 2017

Dear Parents
I hope you all enjoyed your half term break.  We are now into a very busy period of the school year and I look forward to seeing many of you at forthcoming events including Upper School Sports Day, Open Classrooms, end of year celebrations and the Meet the New Teacher evening.  Do please check that you have these events in your diaries.

Could there be anything more exciting for young boys than a digger working on the playground? The picture below shows what they have enjoyed watching this week as we have had some drainage repairs carried out.  I apologise for any inconvenience caused when dropping off and collecting your children. I am sorry to report that Mrs MacPherson, who has been a Class Teacher and Drama Coordinator for 7 years is relocating to Cambridge with her family and therefore leaves us at the end of this term.  We will miss Mrs MacPherson, Mr MacPherson who has run our successful LAMDA club and their son Gus, but wish them and the rest of the family every success in this new season of life.

Special events this week included Year 5 enjoying a visit from The Rainbow Theatre Company helping to bring their understanding of the Second World War evacuations to life. This morning we had our Green Shoots and Kindergarten Sports Event and this afternoon our Lower School Sports Day. These were, as ever, keenly contested and a huge amount of fun for everyone involved.  My thanks to the Games staff and Form Teachers who put a lot of work into making this event run like clockwork.
