Jacob raises funds for St Catherine’s Hospice…

Following his Mummy’s recent diagnosis of a terminal brain tumour, Jacob (Year 3) took it upon himself to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice, who are supporting the family through this difficult time. Jacob joined forces with his Mummy’s work colleagues at Surrey County Council who organised a fundraising event on the 8th June, which included cakes and plant sales, and decided he wanted to create some hampers to sell at this event as well.
Jacob wrote personal letters to Store Managers of some major supermarkets explaining the situation and managed to secure lots of goodies to fill hampers. Thirteen hampers of various themes were filled. The chocolate one obviously got the most attention!  In total Jacob raised just under £600 through his hamper raffle sales…..and he’s not stopping there – he has some more fundraising ideas up his sleeve!
St Catherine’s Hospice is a local charity providing amazing levels of care to people and their families who find themselves in difficult and extremely challenging situations. The Kalmanovitch family would like to take this opportunity to thank the school for their wonderful unrelenting understanding and support through this very difficult time. ”
