Year 2 have a fabulous trip to Legoland….
Last Thursday a very excited Year 2 visited Legoland as the Stunning Starter for our London topic. During our Lego workshop we enjoyed exploring how pulleys and gears work and constructed our own small builds using these. We had great fun experimenting with how to make the gears spin faster and slower by adjusting the order in which we put them in. At Miniland we viewed many London iconic landmarks such as Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, The Gherkin and Covent Garden to name just a few. It was interesting to hear the children comment about how the designers of Miniland had used gears and pulleys in the displays to make some of these designs move. The children were impeccably behaved and needless to say we all had a brilliant time. Well done Year 2!
