A marvellous assembly about heroes by Year 5…

On Wednesday morning, 5GN thoroughly enjoyed sharing their assembly on Heroes. The children showed the school what makes a hero through drama, dance and video. A dance routine devised by the troupe was an energetic start to the assembly, which was followed by the retelling of the courage of Tom Crean in finding help against the adverse weather conditions in Antarctica. Olivia’s personal experience in overcoming her fear of small boats when raft building on the year 5 residential trip showed all of us that we can overcome hurdles to be the best we can be. By watching a video clip we were all made aware of the immense courage Paralympian’s have in mastering their various sports. The final heroes that were mentioned were the immortal heroes who are never forgotten and their impact on the world is lasting.
