Green Shoots enjoy Jolly Journeys…
Green Shoots are having a fantastic Spring Term learning all about Jolly Journeys. From travelling on a Bullet train in China to driving to Grandparents houses on the motorway, the children have used their own experiences to bring this topic to life. They have bought and sold tickets to all sorts of destinations from our ‘Ticket Office’, even going on a train together to the beach for a picnic. Their imaginative play has been wonderful.
Every journey they have taken has been a learning journey. Their weekly walk to the church hall for their music and movement session has become a lesson in road safety. The children have been taught to use their walking feet and listening ears. The topic also included learning about emergency vehicles and this has been a big hit with the children. They have been fascinated to learn about the jobs the emergency services do.
The Jolly Journeys topic had a ‘Fabulous Finish’ with a trip on the minibus to Priory Park. The children put on their seat belts and entertained the drivers by singing ‘The wheels on the bus’ and enjoyed being out in the fresh air.
Their next topic is ‘Sing a Rainbow’ and we are all looking forward to it!
