World Book Day at RSM…
Despite the snow, RSM still managed to celebrate World Book Day, albeit a few days later than planned! We began our day with a whole school assembly, which gave an opportunity to admire the wonderful costumes the children had chosen to wear. Thanks to all the parents who supported this – they all looked amazing! And what a magnificent range of authors and genres that were included: superheroes, princesses, pirates, witches. We even had Scarlett O’Hara (‘Gone With the Wind’) and a tomato, from Charlie and Lola! What imaginations our children have!
The whole school shared a story ‘Please, Please the Bees’ which spoke about working together within a community. Do investigate the website www.storylineonline.net with your children – it is an immense collection of storybooks that are read and the pages of the books are animated – a perfect way to share a story and add some variety to reading at home together.
The children have also been spending time with different year groups, sharing published books and their own writing together. It was lovely to see the mixed age ranges working together and enjoying literature.
