Year 4 visit Preston Manor

On Monday, the Year 4 children had an exciting trip to Preston Manor in Brighton as a Fabulous Finish to their Combined Humanities topic

Preston Manor is a charming historic house, decorated and furnished in Edwardian style. Its elegant reception rooms and functional servants’ quarters reveal the ‘upstairs and downstairs’ of life at the manor. Every room in the house can tell a story about the Stanford family who owned it.

The children arrived in appropriate dress and stepped back in time as they were shown the realities of life in Victorian times. They also thoroughly enjoyed handling a range of Victorian artefacts at Hove Museum.

It was a wonderful trip and a fitting end to a very interesting topic.
