Twilight Walk in aid of Loveworks Foodbank
Loveworks is a local charity that provides foodbanks to people in crisis and needing emergency help. They are manned by local volunteers, who willingly put something back into their communities. Last term, RGS and RSM organised a Twilight Carol Concert to support the valuable work being done by Loveworks and it was a tremendous success.
This term, Year 5&6 are focusing on more participation based activities and set out to raise funds for Loveworks by arranging a Twilight Sponsored Walk. Mrs Sanderson, the Charity Officer for Loveworks visited the school and gave a presentation about the important role this charity plays in the local area and explained to the children how the foodbanks work. The children were very interested and pleased that they could do something to help.
On Wednesday 28 March, a large group of teachers and pupils set out from RSM in high spirits to walk around Priory Park. It was a lovely occasion and the children really enjoyed walking with their friends. The weather was perfect and the group returned to RSM just in time to avoid a heavy rain shower. Viv had laid on hot chocolate and cakes for the walkers which was a lovely way to finish a successful evening.
