#RSMFridayFastFive – Mrs Eveleigh

Girls games teacher, Mrs Eveleigh, took the #RSMFridayFastFive challenge this week.

What is your favourite sport? I like many different sports but my favourite is tennis. I play for Reigate Tennis Club 2nd team and practice every Wednesday evening. I also love hockey but have been unable to play for Reigate Priory this year through injury. I really enjoy watching football and am pleased to see that my team, Manchester United, is back to its winning ways!

Why did you become a teacher? From childhood I always wanted to be a PE teacher. I love coaching children and watching them develop and improve their skills.

Best teaching moment? When our Year 6 team won the East Grinstead prep schools hockey tournament in 2016. The weather was terrible with heavy rain all day, but the girls just kept on working hard and really deserved their victory. Team work at its best!

Is there a particular sportsperson who has inspired you? As tennis is my favourite sport, I grew up watching Steffi Graff playing some fantastic tennis. Also, the Williams sisters, who have been so strong in tennis for many years. They are brilliant ambassadors for the sport.
