Happiness Starts With Us at RSM
This week Reigate St Mary’s Preparatory & Choir School have been focusing on their responsibility to share positivity and kindness as they reframed Anti-Bullying Week 2019 to ‘Happiness Starts With Us’ Week.
The week kicked off with an assembly showing a heart-warming video made by pupils across the age range explaining that we need to “be the change we want to see”, understanding that it is our responsibility to share positivity and happiness and never negativity or unkindness.
On Tuesday RSM continued their theme of ‘Happiness starts with us’ for Anti-Bullying Week with both children and staff enjoying wearing odd socks for Odd Socks Day which was a lot of fun, but also kept the school focused on the message of the week. Reception celebrated by creating silly odd socks and Year 3 enjoyed writing some multiplication odd socks problems.
The week continued with RSM celebrating World Kindness Day on Wednesday. Year 2 celebrated this by making a Good Friend Wreath. Year 4 made fortune tellers and thought of different areas around the school where they could demonstrate an act of kindness. Year 5 made some wonderful posters about being kind to others using the theme ‘It’s cool to be kind!’
