Wakehurst Place Trip

As Year 3 ventured into the depths of leafy Wakehurst, they discovered a number of plants that would be found within the rainforest, including bamboo which grows one metre a day! Despite the wet weather, the children thoroughly enjoyed the rainforest trail. They did not seem to mind getting wet as all that rain definitely helped to enhance the real life sounds of the rainforest! The ‘Amazing Seeds’ workshop provided the children with a greater understanding of seed pods found within this natural environment. Great excitement filled the air when they discovered a cocoa pod filled with beans used for making chocolate. The smell of the chocolate nibs and powder had many mouths watering too! Well done Year 3 on making our rainforest experience great fun! The staff at Wakehurst Place were particularly impressed with your behaviour and enthusiastic approach to learning.
