Year 1 have been learning about adjectives and how they make our writing more exciting when we use them in our sentence work to describe a noun! The children went outside on a lovely Autumnal day this week and collected ‘special’ leaves. They were then tasked with sticking the leaves onto large pieces of paper and writing adjectives (generated from using their senses to describe what they heard, saw, felt, smelt!) that described them alongside. To conclude, the children then used the adjectives verbally to create really exciting sentences. Well done Year 1.
