RGS GCSE Success – Happy Children And Great Results!

Students at RGS were celebrating an exceptional crop of GCSE exam grades this week. As benchmarks return to pre-pandemic levels, RGS recorded better than ever results.

  • Over two thirds of all GCSE grades at levels 8 and 9 (grades A*)
  • 9s made up nearly 40% of all grades (grade A**)
  • 86% of grades at level 9-7 (grades A-A*)

Shaun Fenton said: “I am so proud of these young people, and their wonderful qualities of character, achievements outside the classroom and now exceptional GCSE grades, they are truly remarkable.   These pupils have faced tough times in recent years and yet they looked after each other as good friends, they have raised money for charity, helped with community projects and been committed to environmental initiatives. They are good at sport and good sports, they are creative, adventurous, innovative and are developing a secure moral compass for adult life.”

Amongst amazing STEM, Arts, Tec, Sports and Humanities results and record-breaking numbers of top grades overall, students achieved exceptional results in a wonderful variety of over 25 subjects with especially strong outcomes in Languages – French, Spanish, German, Latin, Greek and Mandarin.

As Reigate Grammar School’s new Sixth Formers, these students and dozens joining from other local schools will now move to the award-winning coveted Harrison Centre with its university-grade library and learning centre plus café, study area, innovation room, terrace and gardens. The Sixth Form environment at RGS is clearly the ideal bridge to higher education, as shown by last week’s A Level success, where over 95% of offers were to world class universities such as Oxbridge, Russell Group universities, Medical School.

Congratulations class of 2023!
