Reading with Reception

We began an exciting new venture this term. Many Year 6 children signed up for ‘Reading with Reception’ which has been running for two weeks. The older children are visiting classrooms during their lunch time and sharing picture books with groups of reception children. It is wonderful to see them engaging so well and selecting the reading material, some of which has been bought in from home to share with the younger children. Reading aloud is a skill and I have been delighted to hear the expression and clarity in their delivery. The Reception children are really enjoying it and their teachers are also extremely impressed with our wonderful Year 6 volunteers.
