Pumpkin Day at RSM!

This week, our focus story has been ‘Pick a Pumpkin’. We listened to the story – all about picking a pumpkin from the patch, carving it and then using it to decorate for ‘pumpkin day’ – before having a go at following the instructions in the story to carve our own class pumpkin! We tried to recall the three main steps using language relating to time and order e.g. first, next, finally. First we cut a hole in the top, next we took turns to scoop out the flesh and seeds and finally we each drew a shape on the pumpkin which we later carved out! The children were highly engaged and then each had a go at writing an invitation to their own ‘pumpkin day’ celebration! 🎃
