The Celts
Year 2 have continued to discuss the Celts, with a focus on how they farmed (crop rotation, no chemicals, and natural composting). We discussed how modern farming is causing issues like unhealthy soil, fewer animals, and climate problems. We then undertook a science experiment where we compared the filtration of different soil types and effectiveness when growing crops. Following this we used purple mash to design our own farms considering the problems with modern farming and how we could counteract these for example by incorporating bees and planting lots of different crops. We also enjoyed exploring sustainable farming by using the Journey 2050 farming game.
