Our ‘food with thought’ proposition is centred around the on-site preparation and cooking of top quality meals made with fresh ingredients.
Our suppliers really care about food and have a reputation to protect – and we build close working relationships with them. We pay careful attention to issues that are becoming increasingly important to consumers such as integrity of sourcing and the ethics of food production.
RSM is working towards achieving Gold Standard with the Soil Association. We use organic eggs, milk and flour in all our cooking and serve organic meat sourced from the Soil Association accredited Rhug Estate once a week.
We have a central ethos for health and nutrition to ensure that students are able to choose a varied and balanced diet that should help them to learn or work to the best of their abilities. To ensure that menus achieve nutritional balance we are advised by a registered public health nutritionist and well-respected expert in the field of nutrition and dietetics.
Our aim is to be responsible rather than faddy and to develop menus that take account of healthy eating guidelines – encouraging students to consume the Government-recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables each day.
