Our next Working Open Morning is on 29 September…

Interested in finding out more about 2023 entry into Reception? Join our next Working Open Morning on Thursday 29 September. Prospective parents are invited to visit the school during a normal school day.

Our children are our very best ambassadors and there will be time to observe them at work and play during small group tours of the grounds and buildings. Afterwards, the Headmaster, Marcus Culverwell, Head of Lower School, Sam Selkirk, and other members of the senior leadership team will be there to meet you and answer any questions you may have, in a relaxed atmosphere over coffee.

Click here to register, or contact Admissions Officer Jenny Myddleton by email jmy@reigatestmarys.org with your child’s name and date of birth.

Admissions into other year groups:

If you would like to find out more about joining our Early Years classes in 2023 or 2024 (we take children from 2 1/2 years old), please register for our Early Years Open House on Saturday 8 October.

We have some spaces for entry into Year 4 2022. Contact Jenny Myddleton for more information.

Spaces come up in other year groups from time to time. For further information, contact Jenny Myddleton by email jmy@reigatestmarys.org

Some information about our Reception classes that you may find useful:

A typical Reception year group at RSM has 44 children, divided into three classes (two of 15 and 1 of 14). The majority of children move up from our Kindergarten with others joining us from many different settings. Many families who come at this stage are new to the area having moved from London or overseas. We manage the transition for all the children gently and there are several sessions in the summer term, before a September start, to make sure all our new joiners feel welcome and happy.

The Reception children enjoy a purposeful curriculum with a strong focus on the individual and child initiated learning. There is an extensive outdoor learning programme in place throughout the school and the children spend plenty of time outside in the fresh air. They have regular Forest School as well as using the grounds, nature reserve, outdoor classroom and pond for daily adventures and fun with their friends.

The children’s Early Years Scores are exceptional, and they move on to Year 1 with a strong foundation on which to build their learning as well as the confidence to try new things and learn from their mistakes.

There is a comprehensive and flexible year-round wraparound care programme for all children at RSM from age 2 1/2 to 11 years.
