Information for Parents

Early Years Foundation Stage includes Green Shoots, Kindergarten and Reception.

SummerTerm 2018

Welcome back to the final term of this academic year. We cannot believe how fast the year has flown!

This half term brings lots of new activities and adventures through the exploration of various topics. Green Shoots will be looking at ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, Kindergarten with be looking at ‘Amazing Animals’ and Reception are exploring everything ‘Mini-Beast’! Lots of fun will be had with food tasting, mini-beast hunts and the handling of various animals through an Early Years workshop run by Zoolab.  Kindergarten will also be looking at different types of animals when they go on their trip to Bocketts Farm.

There is a new curriculum jigsaw and letter for Green Shoots, Kindergarten. Weekly ‘What’s On’ sheets will continue to be posted below, on Mondays; these may help if the response from your offspring to the question ‘What did you do at school today?’ is ‘Nothing!’
Also, please do not forget to follow us on Twitter (@RSMLowerSchool) and like us on Facebook, where we post photos on a day to day basis to give you a little insight into what goes on behind the closed doors of the classrooms.
Please do not hesitate to pop in to chat if you require any further information.

Illness

What if my child becomes ill in Green Shoots, Kindergarten and Reception?
If your child becomes ill a member of the office staff will call you to explain what has happened and to ask you to come and collect your child as soon as possible. It may be necessary to keep your child in a quiet place away from the other children to prevent the spread of viruses. Our quiet places tend to be in the office. A member of staff will stay with your child until you are able to arrive. The school does follow exclusion guidelines from the health protection agency. These guidelines are placed on the notice board and apply to illnesses that are infectious.
Thank you for your co-operation.

Testimonials...

When my children get up in the morning, they want to go to school. I never had that at their last school.
