Information for Parents

Early Years Foundation Stage includes Green Shoots, Kindergarten and Reception.

Spring Term 2019

We have lots of exciting topics for Spring which include ‘Jolly Journeys’ for Green Shoots, ‘Will You Read Me a Story? and ‘Do I Run, Flap or Swim?’’ for Kindergarten and ‘Monkey Puzzle’ for Reception.

This second half term, Kindergarten are preparing themselves to meet and greet the animals at Bocketts Farm. Reception will be getting ready to go to Drusilla’s Zoo for some animal adventures.

Curriculum jigsaws and welcome letters for Green Shoots, Kindergarten and Reception are below. Weekly ‘What’s On’ sheets will continue to be posted below, on Mondays; these may help if the response from your offspring to the question ‘What did you do at school today?’ is ‘Nothing!’

Also, please do not forget to follow us on Twitter (@RSMLowerSchool) and like us on Facebook, where we post photos on a day to day basis to give you a little insight into what goes on behind the closed doors of the classrooms.
Please do not hesitate to pop in to chat if you require any further information.

What if my child becomes ill in Green Shoots, Kindergarten and Reception?
If your child becomes ill a member of the office staff will call you to explain what has happened and to ask you to come and collect your child as soon as possible. It may be necessary to keep your child in a quiet place away from the other children to prevent the spread of viruses. Our quiet places tend to be in the office. A member of staff will stay with your child until you are able to arrive. The school does follow exclusion guidelines from the health protection agency. These guidelines are placed on the notice board and apply to illnesses that are infectious.
Thank you for your co-operation.

When my children get up in the morning, they want to go to school. I never had that at their last school.

Throughout the school, all pupils are confident, articulate and emotionally mature for their age.
