Early Years

Information for Parents

Early Years Foundation Stage includes Green Shoots, Kindergarten and Reception.

Summer Term 2017

Welcome back and we hope you all had a wonderful half term.

Over the coming weeks we have planned: our Sports Day Events, Fathers’ Day breakfast, Meet the New Teacher day, Open Classrooms and for Green Shoots and Kindergarten the Barnado Big Toddle; do keep an eye on the online calendar for other dates. Furthermore, in class we will continue to be very busy and additional information can be found in the termly class letters and curriculum jigsaws. For those of you who are new, we have produced an event help sheet, please follow the link below.  As usual, for weekly information we provide a ‘What’s On’ sheet which details what is happening in each class that week; it may also help if the response from your offspring to the question ‘What did you do at school today?’ is ‘Nothing!’ All this information can be found on the website. Also, please do not  forget to follow us on Twitter (@rsmearlyyears), where we post photos on a day to day basis to give you a little insight into what goes on behind the closed doors of the classrooms.

We wish you all a wonderful half term and please do not hesitate to pop in to chat if you require any further information.

What if my child becomes ill in Green Shoots, Kindergarten and Reception?
If your child becomes ill a member of the office staff will call you to explain what has happened and to ask you to come and collect your child as soon as possible.

It may be necessary to keep your child in a quiet place away from the other children to prevent the spread of viruses. Our quiet places tend to be in the office. A member of staff will stay with your child until you are able to arrive.

The school does follow exclusion guidelines from the health protection agency. These guidelines are placed on the notice board and apply to illnesses that are infectious.

Thank you for your co-operation.

When my children get up in the morning, they want to go to school. I never had that at their last school.

Throughout the school, all pupils are confident, articulate and emotionally mature for their age.
