Information for Parents

Early Years Foundation Stage includes Green Shoots, Kindergarten and Reception.

Autumn Term 2018

A very warm welcome back after half term. We hope that you have all had a lovely break.

This half term is full of lots of learning and fun activities for the children to engage in. Green Shoots will be exploring ‘Where am I’ and Kindergarten will be focusing on ‘The World Around Us’. Reception will be continuing with their topic ‘Yum Yum’ which even includes a trip to the bakery and a teddy bear’s picnic.

Below are the curriculum jigsaws and welcome letters. Weekly ‘What’s On’ sheets will continue to be posted below, on Mondays; these may help if the response from your offspring to the question ‘What did you do at school today?’ is ‘Nothing!’
Also, please do not forget to follow us on Twitter (@RSMLowerSchool) and like us on Facebook, where we post photos on a day to day basis to give you a little insight into what goes on behind the closed doors of the classrooms.
Please do not hesitate to pop in to chat if you require any further information.

Illness

What if my child becomes ill in Green Shoots, Kindergarten and Reception?
If your child becomes ill a member of the office staff will call you to explain what has happened and to ask you to come and collect your child as soon as possible. It may be necessary to keep your child in a quiet place away from the other children to prevent the spread of viruses. Our quiet places tend to be in the office. A member of staff will stay with your child until you are able to arrive. The school does follow exclusion guidelines from the health protection agency. These guidelines are placed on the notice board and apply to illnesses that are infectious.
Thank you for your co-operation.

When my children get up in the morning, they want to go to school. I never had that at their last school.
