An Afternoon Tea Concert

One of the greatest pleasures of directing the choristers is being part of the outreach opportunities where the choir can interact and perform to others in the community who would not otherwise have the chance to hear them sing.

I am always impressed with how freely and confidently the choristers chat with those who have come to hear them, helping to hand out refreshments and taking the chance to share stories. This is a mutually beneficial experience and a really rewarding thing to see. So, I was proud of them all yesterday when they gathered in St Mary’s Chruch Centre to sing to 60 elderly members of the community, performing some choral classics as well as leading a sing-a-long with the guests, ending with a rousing rendition of ‘Thank you for the Music’! The feel good factor was very high and there were many smiles to be seen.

Special thanks must go to Lesley Nicholson who organised this event. It was so well received and a joy to be part of.
