Lower School STEAM Day

Lower School had a fantastic day participating in a KAPLA workshop last week. Each class completed a project using KAPLA blocks. With these blocks you do not clip or glue them together, it is all about precisely positioning the blocks, thinking about how the blocks will balance and working together to position them in the correct place. The workshop was not only great fun but it also involved teamwork, resilience, perseverance and concentration. At the end of the day we had a sports hall full of KAPLA cars, houses, castles, caterpillars and more.  The children then all came down to see their ‘exhibition’ and discuss how hard they had worked. Then it was time for the fun part… demolition! Again fantastic teamwork was seen and the hall was tidied in ten minutes.

All of the children worked incredibly hard. We were very impressed with all the ‘have a go’ hippos especially when their models fell but the children didn’t give up and carried on building. Well done Lower School!
