Upper School STEAM Day

The children in Upper School enjoyed a variety of flight themed activities for STEAM day this week. After an assembly from guest speaker Captain Tims on how aeroplanes fly, the children split into different groups named after famous aviators and all enjoyed different STEAM activities including an egg drop challenge, creating paper plate gliders, flight simulators and flying paper planes in a wind tunnel with flight mapping. Our catering team created a STEAM themed lunch and the day culminated with a rocket launch finale in our school grounds watched by the entire Upper School.

Later the same week we had the pleasure of hosting two STEM Ambassadors from Boeing, who conducted three engaging activities for the children in Years 5 and 6. The students enthusiastically participated in the challenges, working together collaboratively in small groups to devise innovative solutions. They had great fun!

We extend our gratitude to Boeing for providing us with the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of their STEM Ambassadors.
