Our Early Years is made up of three year groups:
Green Shoots – for children aged 2 1/2 years old (there are intakes in September and January dependent upon where each child’s birthday falls in the year). 30 children join us at this stage. It is our main entry point.
Kindergarten – this is the pre-school year and children move up into Kindergarten from Green Shoots. There are also spaces for 10 additional children to join us directly into Kindergarten at this stage.
Reception – the first year of ‘big’ school. Children move up from Kindergarten or join us from other settings.
Green Shoots, Kindergarten and Reception are warm and caring environments with excellent ratios and an experienced teaching team. Relationships are at the front and centre of everything we do and staff spend time making sure close bonds are formed with each individual child.
Both Green Shoots and Kindergarten are fully integrated into the school so, when the time comes, the children transition smoothly and seamlessly into our Reception classes, already familiar with staff and routines and ready for the learning journey ahead. We also have a full transition programme for children joining us directly into Reception to ensure they settle in quickly and happily.
We have fantastic Early Years outdoor play areas as well as 15 acres of grounds which the children enjoy every day. There is a dedicated Forest School area which the children visit regularly under the watchful eye of our fully qualified Forest School Leader.
Technology is fully integrated into the classrooms and at the forefront of our teaching throughout the school, from Green Shoots upwards.

For families interested in Reception upwards in 2025, we would also recommend you join our Working Open Morning on Thursday 9 May when there will be an opportunity to tour the school in small groups during a normal school day.
