Technology in Learning

Technology is embedded throughout the curriculum, fostering independence, creativity, and collaboration.

Everyone is a budding scientist!

At RSM, Science comes alive through the lens of biodiversity, sustainability, and immersive nature learning.

Our curriculum is rooted in real-world experiences, empowering students to explore, question, and understand the natural world through hands-on, skills-based learning.

We believe the best classroom has no walls. Whether tracking wildlife, cultivating native plants, or conducting field experiments, our students spend a significant amount of time outdoors—learning by doing, observing, and engaging with ecosystems first-hand.

We have a broad curriculum from Green Shoots to Year 6 that is taught through discovery-based learning, active investigation and enquiry. By Year 5 and 6 the children have the skills to be able to plan and conduct their own complex investigations to apply their understanding in real-life contexts.

All our Science, STEAM and EcoSchools colleagues work closely since Science doesn’t stand alone—it thrives in collaboration. Together, we create interdisciplinary experiences that spark curiosity and connect concepts. This united approach ensures that children see the world as a vibrant, interconnected ecosystem of knowledge.

From forest trails to garden beds, every lesson is an invitation to connect with the planet and build a sustainable future.

STEM: Creativity and Problem-Solving

Our STEM curriculum encourages critical thinking by integrating scientific, technological, engineering, artistic, and mathematical concepts. In Lower School, children take part in exciting challenges, such as designing and testing structures inspired by The Three Little Pigs—building houses from recyclable materials and testing their strength with fans and hairdryers.

For older children, STEM is a dedicated subject where children develop creative problem-solving skills with a strong focus on real-world applications. These lessons enhance mathematical reasoning and encourage innovation, fostering confidence in tackling future global challenges, particularly within a growing green economy.

Through a dynamic, hands-on approach to IT, Science, and STEM, we inspire curiosity, resilience, and a love for learning—ensuring that our children are equipped with the skills and mindset to thrive in an ever-changing world.
