Spanish in the Early Years
Green Shoots, Kindergarten and Reception enjoy Spanish songs, games and rhymes based around specific themes such as jungle animals, colours, numbers up to 10 or days of the week.
In Years 1&2, the children continue to focus on listening and speaking as well as the introduction of writing skills, grammatical rules and Spanish phonics.

Spanish in the Upper School
In Years 3-6, the children build further on their listening and speaking skills and gain confidence with their writing and comprehension skills, practising their grammar and vocabulary through a combination of songs, games and online activities.
They will learn about Spanish and Latin American culture and traditions such as Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve festivities, and will look at Frida Kahlo's artistic style in their Art lessons.
Mandarin in Year 6
Colleagues from the Mandarin department at Reigate Grammar School come to RSM fortnightly to give our Year 6 children lessons in order to set them up for senior school. Children learn the basics such as counting, how to introduce themselves and sing songs in Mandarin, as well as learning about cultural traditions and festivals.
