Reigate St Mary’s is delighted to announce that following a three‑day visit from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), the school has met all required standards - the highest possible outcome under the current national framework.

Inspectors spent time in lessons, spoke with pupils and staff, reviewed work and policies, and considered the highly positive parent, staff and pupil survey feedback. One inspector remarked,

You should be very proud of your pupils, as they have been totally brilliant.

The report describes RSM as “a community where pupils are articulate, principled and compassionate”, guided by strong values that shape daily life.

Pupils were praised for their empathy, courtesy and maturity, as well as their sense of responsibility towards others.

Inspectors highlighted the school’s creative, engaging teaching and the effective use of indoor and outdoor learning spaces. They noted that pupils are “well‑motivated, confident, articulate and responsible” and that teaching enables them to achieve above national age‑related expectations.

Pupils’ wellbeing was recognised as a major strength. The report notes that:

Pupils feel safe, supported and able to approach staff with trust.

Early Years provision was praised for skilful teaching, excellent communication and language development, and calm, nurturing environments that help young children thrive.

We are incredibly proud of our pupils, staff and wider community for everything this report reflects. Families are warmly encouraged to read the full ISI report HERE.
