Academic Year 1

This week, Year 1 have been busy exploring measurement in a hands-on and creative way. Using non-standard units such as cubes, the children worked in pairs to measure objects around the classroom and recorded their findings on mini whiteboards.

With the help of our class character, Tiny, and his amusing “mistakes,” the children practiced thinking critically about measuring and explaining their reasoning. They then put their skills to the test by measuring festive sleigh pictures and even some dinosaur feet!

It’s been a fantastic week of practical learning, problem-solving, and plenty of fun.

Well done, Year 1!
