This week, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils have been busy learning through a variety of engaging and hands-on experiences.
Year 1 had a musical twist to their learning with the game Burney Bee, which helped reinforce the concepts of beat, rhythm, and vocal control - all while having fun with friends.

In science, the children built on their previous learning about dinosaur diets by exploring the eating habits of modern-day animals. Using sorting hoops, they grouped animals into herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. When questions arose, pupils confidently referred to animal fact files to investigate and justify their choices - showcasing impressive enquiry skills and teamwork.

To round off the week, Year 1 Construction Club saw children designing and building their own LEGO marble mazes. With a mix of creativity, problem-solving, and engineering thinking, they created twisty tracks and tested how marbles zoomed through their designs. It was a brilliant way to explore design and motion through play.

In Year 2, children practiced counting in 3s with a series of practical outdoor activities. From a scavenger hunt for multiples of 3 to building a number track for the three times tables, pupils used movement and teamwork to reinforce their maths skills. They also collected groups of objects to create number sentences and played an interactive game where landing on a multiple of 3 kept them in the game - making maths both active and fun.
