This week in Reception, the children have started their exciting new topic based on the story Stanley’s Stick. Inspired by the book, they’ve been busy turning sticks they found on the bund into magic wands!
There was tremendous fun as the children acted out being wizards, using their wands to turn their friends into frogs, brooms, spiders, and even crocodiles!
It was also lovely to see so many children feeling confident to take part in this imaginative play as well as being happy to have a go at some emergent writing as they wrote their own magical spells.
Alongside this, we’ve continued developing our phonics and number skills through playful, hands-on activities.
Well done, Reception!
