The teams of Year 6 children are preparing for the First Lego League UNEARTHED challenge, engaging in an exciting blend of learning, creativity, and teamwork. Through hands-on exploration, the children are developing important STEAM skills such as engineering design, programming, and problem-solving while building and coding their LEGO robots to complete the themed missions. The challenge also encourages project based learning, as the teams research real-world issues related to archaeology and design an innovative solution to share through their presentation.
Alongside these technical skills, the experience is filled with fun and excitement, from experimenting with robot designs and testing strategies to celebrating team successes and filming a team chant using green screen. Throughout the process, children learn collaboration, resilience, and communication, making the preparation for the UNEARTHED challenge an enjoyable educational journey of discovery.
