Year 5 Inspired by World War II Story and Artefacts

This week, Libby captivated Year 5 by bringing in a fantastic folder featuring a range of artefacts belonging to her great-grandfather, Sergeant Victor Jenkins. Sergeant Jenkins served as a pilot in the RAF during World War II, flying many successful missions before being captured and taken as a prisoner of war in Germany.

Libby proudly shared the story of his extraordinary life and bravery with the class through a collection of newspapers, uniform items, RAF documents and handwritten letters. We are incredibly grateful to Libby and her family for putting together such a fascinating and thoughtful collection of resources for Year 5 to learn from and enjoy.
