It has been an excellent start to the cricket season, with strong performances from both the U8 and U10 girls’ teams against Hawthorns.

The U8 teams showed fantastic progress across all areas of the game. There was clear improvement in fielding accuracy and the straightness of bowling, which made a real impact during matches. With the bat, the girls demonstrated growing confidence, communicating well between pairs and building their run totals steadily. It was a very positive display of teamwork, effort and developing skills.

The U10 girls also enjoyed a brilliant start to their season with two fantastic games. The team showed great skill and determination throughout, with particularly impressive bowling that was both straight and increasingly fast, putting the opposition under consistent pressure. Batting was equally strong, with confident, attacking play, well-judged singles and some excellent boundaries contributing to a competitive total.

Our U11 teams also took on Hawthorns, with two of the three teams experiencing hard ball cricket for the first time. Despite some early nerves, the girls grew in confidence with every over, showing excellent effort with both bat and ball. There were some impressive individual performances, alongside great encouragement between teammates, making it a valuable and rewarding experience. Most importantly, the girls played with smiles on their faces and represented the school brilliantly in this exciting next step.

Overall, it has been a hugely encouraging week of cricket, with all players showing growing confidence, teamwork and enthusiasm for the game. Well done to everyone involved!
