Reigate St Mary’s has enjoyed a fantastic week of sport, with pupils from across the Prep School taking part in a wide range of fixtures in football and hockey. From first matches of the season to tournament triumphs, our teams have shown great determination, teamwork and sportsmanship.

U9 Football: A Gritty Start to the Season

The Under 9 boys kicked off their season with a triangular fixture against Aberdour and The Hawthorns. Battling through torrential rain and bursts of sunshine, the boys showed impressive resilience and teamwork. It was a brilliant start to their football journey this year, with plenty of promise for the season ahead.

U10 Girls’ Hockey: Strong Performances Away at Hazelwood

Both the U10A and U10B girls’ hockey teams travelled to Hazelwood for their first matches of the season. The A team impressed with attacking flair and well-worked team goals, securing a win. The B team showed great improvement in their passing during the second half, earning a well-deserved draw. A fantastic start for our U10 hockey players!

U11 Football: Surrey Cup Success and Dominant Displays

The Under 11s enjoyed a fantastic first week of football fixtures. The U11A boys kicked things off with a thrilling win in the first round of the Surrey Cup. After a tense 1-1 draw in normal time, they showed real determination in extra time, scoring two late goals to secure a 3-1 victory. On Wednesday, all U11 teams faced Aberdour and recorded wins in each match, with some excellent football on display from everyone involved.

Our Under 11 girls also got off to an excellent start in the Surrey Football Cup on Tuesday, facing Royal Russell School in their first-round match. They played some brilliant attacking football, linking up beautifully to create scoring opportunities, while showing strength in defence by chasing back and making key tackles. Annabel G opened the scoring just before half-time, and in the second half, RSM took control of the game. A special mention goes to Sophie M, who scored a superb hat-trick to seal a 4–1 victory. Well done girls — a great team effort!

U11 Girls’ Hockey: Skill and Teamwork at Hartswood

Our U11 girls’ hockey teams took to the pitch at Hartswood for their first fixtures of the season against Hazelwood. The girls worked hard on their tackling and passing, showing great improvement throughout the afternoon. It was a wonderful start to the season, with all teams demonstrating commitment and enthusiasm.

Colts Football: Depth and Determination

The Colts A, B, C and D teams hosted Aberdour in a full set of fixtures at home. With four teams in action, it was a brilliant showcase of depth and talent across the year group, with plenty of goals and great teamwork on display.

U9 Hockey: Competitive Matches at Hartswood

Our U9 hockey players took part in a competitive fixture against Lingfield at Hartswood. The match provided a great opportunity for the children to develop their skills and enjoy playing in a team environment.

Looking Ahead: Weekend Fixtures

This weekend promises more sporting excitement, with the RSM U10 Football Tournament kicking off at 9.00am, and the U11A girls heading to Downsend for a hockey tournament.

We wish all our teams the best of luck!
