It was a fantastic week of sport across the school, with our netball and rugby teams showcasing impressive progress, determination and teamwork.
Netball
The week began on Tuesday with the U8s taking on The Hawthorns. In dry conditions, the girls demonstrated growing confidence in their marking and defensive play, working hard to win possession. Their movement down the court became increasingly fluent, with stronger drives into space and better passing options. The team continues to develop their positional understanding and should feel very proud of their progress.
On Wednesday, the U10 netball teams also faced The Hawthorns in three excellent matches. All teams showed significant improvement and were rewarded with well-deserved victories. The A team held onto a narrow one-goal lead thanks to tight marking and improved attacking footwork. The B team produced some impressive attacking play, scoring freely, while the C team made numerous interceptions and converted shots confidently from all areas of the circle. It was wonderful to see how far all the girls have come since starting netball in November. Well played, girls.
Rugby
Wednesday afternoon saw the U10 and U11 rugby teams travel to Caterham for what proved to be one of the strongest sets of performances this season. The U11A, U10A and U10B teams all secured excellent wins, while the U11B team showed outstanding resilience to fight back and earn a 9–9 draw. A superb effort from all involved.

The week concluded with the U9s taking part in a triangular fixture against Hawthorns and New Beacon on Thursday. There was some fantastic rugby on display, with notable improvement in tackling and defensive organisation across all teams. The A team won both of their matches, while the B and C teams each recorded one win and one loss. A great afternoon of rugby and a brilliant way to round off a busy week of sport.
Well done to all pupils who represented the school so proudly.
