It has been an action-packed week of sport for RSM, with our pupils demonstrating outstanding teamwork, determination and sportsmanship across a range of fixtures and tournaments.
Year 5 Netballers Shine at RGS Tournament
On Thursday 12th February, the Year 5 girls travelled to RGS to compete in a netball tournament against teams from Chinthurst and Micklefield. They played four excellent matches, showing impressive teamwork, determination and perseverance throughout the afternoon. The girls rotated positions with confidence, supported one another superbly and represented the school with pride. Their enthusiasm and commitment made them fantastic ambassadors for RSM.
Strong Performances at the After-School Swimming Gala
Also on Thursday, RSM hosted Oakhyrst Grange for an exciting U8–U11 swimming gala. Every member of the team swam in both individual and relay events, bringing energy, focus and brilliant team spirit to the pool.
RSM produced particularly strong swims, securing several convincing race wins.
A special mention goes to the U10 boys, who admirably stepped up to compete in the older age group to support the U11 team—a great example of teamwork and dedication. Well done to all our swimmers for a fantastic event!
Year 6 Girls Impress at the IAPS Regional Netball Tournament
On Monday, the Year 6 girls competed in the IAPS regional tournament, where the standard of play was extremely high. With the eventual winners coming from their group, RSM did brilliantly to secure fourth place and progress to the Plate competition.
In the semi-final against Seaford, some superb attacking play and accurate shooting earned the team a 6–4 victory. They then faced local rivals Aberdour in a tense and tightly contested match, eventually winning 3–2 after a flurry of interceptions and determined defending.
The final, against Daneshill, was another close battle. RSM fought back impressively from two goals down to level the score, but a late goal from the opposition saw the match end in a narrow 5–4 defeat.
Despite the result, the team should be incredibly proud of their performance, resilience and teamwork. Their coach said it was a pleasure to work with such a hardworking and dedicated group this year.
It’s been a fantastic final week of rugby fixtures to bring the season to a close.
On Tuesday, the U8s played Aberdour in what turned out to be a thrilling encounter. The A team showed tremendous character, battling back from three tries down to secure a superb 15–10 victory. A real testament to their resilience and team spirit.
Wednesday saw the U11s finish their season on a high with some outstanding performances against Aberdour. Both the A and B teams delivered excellent displays, each earning well-deserved victories to cap off a strong season.
On Thursday, the U9s rounded off an incredibly successful season in style. The A team completed the rugby season unbeaten after an impressive away win at Aberdour. A fantastic achievement and a reflection of their hard work throughout the year.
A huge well done to all players for their effort, commitment, and sportsmanship this season. What a way to finish!
